Canva has dropped its biggest update ever the Creative Operating System, a complete redesign that blends design, AI, and marketing in one place.

At its core are three layers:

• Visual Suite: Revamped tools for video, websites, emails, and forms — now easier and faster.

• Canva AI: The world’s first AI model built to understand design logic, not just create images.

• Platform Layer: Brand tools, publishing options, and performance tracking to manage everything end-to-end.

This update means you can brainstorm, design, publish, and analyze all inside Canva. With features like Magic Video, Ask @Canva, and Canva Grow, the platform is shaping what it calls the start of the Imagination Era.

Windsurf just dropped Codemaps, and it’s changing how developers understand code. Built on SWE-1.5 and Claude Sonnet 4.5, Codemaps automatically generates visual maps of your codebase so you can find things fast and think clearly.

It connects with DeepWiki and Cascade, giving you just-in-time maps for any problem.

You can click through visual nodes, trace logic instantly, and even use Codemaps inside agent prompts to boost AI coding accuracy.

LTX just introduced Elements, a new system that lets creators tag, edit, and reuse anything in their scenes.

You can now save any asset as an Element, name it, assign a voice (for characters), and tag it in future shots.

Once tagged, the Element keeps its look, scale, and style no matter where it appears, ideal for storyboarding or multi-scene projects.

With compositing tools, users can mix and match Elements, remove items, or blend multiple visuals together. And with LTX-2, you can add motion, expression, and lip-sync directly inside LTX.

A Wall Street Journal report claims xAI forced employees to give up their biometric data (faces and voices) to train Ani, Elon Musk’s “AI girlfriend” chatbot.

Staff were told the data collection was a job requirement under an internal program called Project Skippy.

According to the report, employees had to sign release forms granting xAI a perpetual license to use and reproduce their likeness for training Ani and other Grok companions.

Ani, described as a flirtatious anime avatar available through X’s $30/month SuperGrok subscription, was marketed as a “human-like” AI experience. Behind that realism, however, it appears the data came directly from real employees.

• Canva relaunched Affinity as a single, unified design app that’s now completely free for everyone, directly taking on Adobe Creative Cloud.

• Canva introduced Canva Business, a new subscription adding collaboration tools, Canva Grow Insights, premium AI access, Leonardo.Ai’s Apprentice plan, Flourish Presenter plan, and 10% off print orders.

• Figma announced the acquisition of Weavy, bringing generative AI and pro editing tools together on one browser-based canvas.

• Google NotebookLM is developing Custom Styles for Video Overviews, letting users define a visual style through custom prompts — likely powered by Nano Banana 2.

• Webflow launched Getty Images and iStock apps, allowing users to browse, license, and import visuals directly into their projects.

• Webflow also rolled out AI-powered SEO and AEO tools that audit and auto-fix optimization issues across websites.

• NotebookLM added a new feature that lets users view customization prompts used for their outputs like videos, flashcards, and quizzes.

• ElevenLabs launched hosted LLMs in its Agents Platform, delivering voice agents with ultra-low latency and reduced reasoning cost.

• ChatGPT now lets users interrupt and refine long-running queries in real time, adding new context without restarting the session.
