OpenAI has started testing ads inside ChatGPT for some Free and Go users in the U.S. The ads are clearly labeled and appear separately from responses.

OpenAI says they do not influence answers or change how the model behaves.

The goal is to keep ChatGPT free with fewer usage limits. Users can dismiss ads and give feedback to control what they see. This marks the first real step toward an ad-supported tier inside ChatGPT.

Qwen-Image-2.0 Goes 7B and 2K Native

Alibaba’s Qwen team has released Qwen-Image-2.0, a 7B unified generation and editing model with native 2048×2048 output.

It combines image creation and editing in one pipeline, delivers realistic textures, and supports up to 1K-token prompts. Text rendering is a major highlight, handling infographics, posters, slides, and even Chinese calligraphy with strong accuracy.

The model is currently API-only on Alibaba Cloud in invite beta, with a free demo on Qwen Chat.

Paper Adds Real-Time Halftone CMYK

Paper has released Halftone CMYK, a new WebGL shader that recreates analog CMYK print effects directly in the browser. Inspired by the discontinued Inklab Photoshop plugin, the filter renders instantly with no plugins or loading delays.

It simulates layered cyan, magenta, yellow, and black ink dots with realistic overlap and print-style imperfections.

Designers can choose between Dots, Ink, or Sharp modes, and customize each CMYK channel independently for duotone, pop-art, or vintage looks.
