I was paying $29/month for Yellow Images mockups until I realized something annoying. I kept needing the same 5 mockup styles over and over.
iPhone screens, laptop displays, business cards on desks, and social media posts.
That's basically it.
But every time I wanted a slight variation, like a different angle, new background, or custom lighting, I'd have to dig through hundreds of templates or settle for "close enough."
But today a’m going to show you how you can generate your own mockups in seconds.
The Process
Head to Freepik and hover over AI Suite.
Under Design, click Mockup Generator.
You'll see three options: browse their mockup library, upload your own image, or generate a custom mockup using AI.
Click the prompt option and describe exactly what you need.
Here's an example prompt I use for clothing mockups:
"A stylish male model poses in a minimalistic studio setting with a clean, muted blue background. He wears a white polo shirt with a soft texture, featuring a relaxed fit, short sleeves, and a structured open collar. The hem of the polo has a ribbed finish, adding a refined touch. He pairs it with white drawstring trousers for a cohesive monochromatic look. He also wears a matching white bucket hat, tilting it slightly with one hand in a natural, effortless pose. The lighting is soft and even, highlighting the details of the fabric while keeping the shadows minimal. The overall aesthetic is clean, modern, and fashion-forward. Medium shot, ensuring full visibility of the polo for mockup purposes."
Choose your size ratio: portrait 2:3, square, horizontal, whatever fits your project.
Click Generate Mockup and wait about 10 seconds.
Once it generates, click on the mockup area to upload your design.
The editor lets you adjust blur, opacity, and overlay settings. You can tweak the perspective or even remove the background entirely.
Within minutes, you have a custom mockup that looks like it cost $100 to produce.
