Moonshot AI posted a new Kimi teaser on July 15, and it immediately turned into one of the loudest AI rumors of the week.

Moonshot's official Kimi account posted the teaser on July 15. Expected to release a Fable-like model sometime on July 16th (Today!)
The reason people are watching so closely: reports citing FT say Moonshot is preparing Kimi K3 for release in the coming days, with K3 expected to become China’s largest AI model yet. Other coverage says preview chatter is already putting it in the same conversation as Claude Fable 5.
Important caveat: Kimi K3 is still not officially released. There are no confirmed specs, pricing, or public benchmarks yet, so the Fable 5 comparison is still anticipation, not proof.

Sol is the flagship. Use it when the work is hard: complex coding, research, science, cybersecurity, and anything that needs the strongest reasoning.
Terra is the balanced option. It is meant for everyday serious work where you still want strong results, but faster and cheaper than always using the top model.
Luna is the lightweight option. It is best for cheaper, faster tasks where you do not need the full power of Sol.
For an average user, think of it like choosing a car mode: Sol is sport mode, Terra is daily driving, and Luna is economy mode. Same family, different tradeoffs.
OpenAI also says Pro and Enterprise users can select GPT-5.6 Pro for the highest-quality results on complex tasks.

The key detail: Grok 4.5 is not just another coding-only model. Cursor says it is the first model they have built for more than software engineering, which means it is aimed at broader reasoning, planning, and agent-style work too.
Cursor also clarified that Grok 4.5 and Composer are different weight classes. Composer 2.5 is staying, and Cursor says more models in that smaller size are coming later.

Gemini 3.5 Pro Countdown Starts

Tomorrow, July 17, is shaping up as a huge day for Google’s next model cycle. Leaked launch plans point to Gemini 3.5 Pro arriving with a 2-million-token context window, which would let the model work across huge files, codebases, transcripts, and research dumps in one pass.
The same leaks mention a new Deep Think reasoning mode gated behind Google’s $250/month Ultra tier. In plain English: regular Gemini handles the fast everyday work, while Deep Think would be for harder multi-step problems where the model needs to spend more time planning.
API pricing is also rumored to land near $1.25 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, which would make the model aggressive if the 2M-token context window is real.
The timing matters too. Shanghai’s World AI Conference week is putting China’s AI ecosystem in the spotlight, so a July 17 Gemini moment would land right as global attention turns to the next US-China model race.
Important caveat: Google has not officially confirmed these specs yet, so treat the context window, Deep Think tier, and pricing as reported leaks until Google posts the launch.
