Stripe agreed to acquire OpenRouter, the AI model gateway that routes traffic across more than 400 models from 80+ providers.

The simple explanation: OpenRouter helps companies decide which model should handle each request based on cost, speed, reliability, and task complexity.

Why does Stripe care? Because tokens are becoming a money problem as much as a model problem. Stripe already optimizes payments, fraud, revenue, and billing. OpenRouter gives it a way to optimize AI usage too.

The bigger read is that AI routing is becoming infrastructure. If every company is suddenly spending real money on models, the layer that decides where each token goes starts to look like the payments layer for AI.

While everyone was talking about Stripe and OpenRouter, Ramp was casually pointing people to Router.com, its own multi-model gateway.

The pitch is similar: one endpoint, multiple model providers, automatic routing, cost tracking, and failover when a provider has issues.

Ramp says it has run this internally for three years, across more than 2.75 trillion tokens a month, and cut its own AI costs by roughly 30% without a meaningful drop in quality.

The timing is funny, but also telling. Finance companies are looking at AI spend and seeing the same pattern they already understand: messy usage, hidden waste, and a need for routing rules that turn chaos into something measurable.

Mike Smith shared new brand work for Calendly, with Smith & Diction publishing the full case study.

The rebrand is not just a fresh logo. The thread says Calendly is moving from “the link you send for scheduling” toward a broader business workflow tool: scheduling, notetaking, payments, AI assistant work, and relationship management.

The visual system keeps the name equity but makes the brand feel more grown up: a rippling C, a tighter connected wordmark, motion-friendly patterns, and modular “flex bubble” shapes for actions, statuses, event types, and product moments.

The interesting part is the positioning. Calendly already solved one annoying workflow. Now the brand is trying to make room for a bigger promise: one calm layer for more of the work around meetings.

Cursor launched Origin, its own code hosting platform, in early beta for paid users.

Origin starts with repos, pull requests, code browsing, GitHub sync, and agent access inside Cursor. In other words, Cursor is no longer only the place where you edit code. It wants to become the place where the repo lives, gets reviewed, and gets changed by agents.

The timing made the story louder: GitHub was down the same day, and multiple outlets framed Origin as a GitHub competitor arriving during GitHub’s outage.

The useful nuance is that Origin does not fully rip out GitHub yet. Synced GitHub repos can still keep GitHub as the source of truth, while Cursor becomes the agent-native workspace around them.

Vercel’s changelog moved quickly around the new repo layer too. It added public beta support for deploying Cursor Origin repositories.

That means Origin repos can connect to Vercel projects for automatic preview and production deployments, which gives Cursor’s new hosting surface a more complete path to shipping.

Vercel also added support for platforms to deploy from users’ GitHub repositories using short-lived GitHub tokens, without storing the token on the deployment.

The pattern is clear: code hosting, agents, CI, previews, and production deploys are starting to blur together. Wherever the repo lives, the rest of the stack wants to meet it there.
